Week 1-2 (Days 1-14): Medicine Foundation

Cardiology, Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology. Focus on clinical presentations and first-line management. Do 1 mock test every 2 days. Review wrong answers immediately.

Week 3-4 (Days 15-28): Surgery and OBG

General Surgery (GI, urology, trauma), Orthopaedics basics, OBG (obstetric emergencies, gynaecological conditions). Daily mock tests. Track performance by subject.

Week 5-6 (Days 29-42): Paediatrics, ENT, Ophth

Paediatrics (infections, nutrition, development), ENT (otitis, sinusitis, hoarseness), Ophthalmology (red eye, glaucoma, retinal). Daily tests continue.

Week 7 (Days 43-49): Community Medicine + Revision

Complete Community and Forensic Medicine. Start targeted revision of your 3 weakest subjects identified from item analysis data across weeks 1-6.

Day 50: Final Mock and Rest

Take one full 200-MCQ timed final mock. Review your cumulative item analysis. Identify any remaining gaps. Rest the final day before the actual JCAT exam.

Recommended Daily Routine for JCAT Preparation

Morning (1.5 hours): Concept Review
Read the topic scheduled for the week. Use short notes or key chapters from textbooks. Focus on clinical presentations, investigations, and management. Avoid going too deep into basic science.
Midday (1 hour): MCQ Practice and Mock Test
Join the NextStepMD daily JCAT paper at the scheduled time. Complete the full paper within the countdown timer. Do not skip papers - consistency builds exam endurance.
Evening (1 hour): Review and Item Analysis
After results are released, review every question you got wrong. Check your item analysis report. Note which topics you are consistently missing. Adjust the next day's morning reading accordingly.
